A new way to raise money for STaSS

mainlogo (2)

STaSS has recently teamed up with www.clothesforcash.com to raise funds via a clothes collection service. Staff volunteers and service users have been raising money for STaSS by recycling their unwanted clothes, shoes and accessories through the FREE and simple to use services of www.cothesforcash.com.

So far we have raised nearly £40.00. All you need to do is visit www.clothesforcash.com website and request a FREE clothes collection pack to be sent directly to your address. Upon requesting your FREE clothes collection pack, please select STaSS as your preferred payment method from the drop down menu.

Once you have received your collection pack, simply fill the clothes sack with all your unwanted clothes, shoes and accessories (must be in a clean and wearable condition – no damage or stains). Please note: each collection sack holds around 10 large bin bags worth of clothing (30kg+) and no ironing or folding is necessary!

Then request a FREE collection of your clothes sack (via City Link 3rd party independent couriers) on a date that is convenient for yourself from anywhere in the UK. www.clothesforcash.com will then donate STaSS 60p per kilo for clothing, footwear and accessories that are found to be of a clean and wearable condition based upon a full 30kg sack this would equate to an £18.00 donation to STaSS.

Many thanks to everyone who has made a donation to STaSS so far.

Thank You to Jo

A Big Thank–You to Jo Latimer for all the work she did as part of her work experience as a Senior Support Worker at STaSS as part of her degree in Social Work.

Jo put in tremendous effort in all she did and all at STaSS are grateful. Jo came alongside service users providing encouragement, friendship without judgement or disapproval, a listening ear and advice in areas such as housing, benefits and immigration among other things. She assisted service users in completing any relevant application forms and if needed accompanied them to any appointments at the Council Housing Department, Job Centre, Benefits office and to hospital appointments. She made sure that service users understood what was happening, talked through any concerns and ensured they were treated quickly and fairly.

A word from Jo……    Continue reading
